Exhausted *whew*

What an amazing day in clinic! It was by far my busiest day EVER. 17 patients! WOOO

I originally had 14 on the books, but then 1 add on and 2 walk ins. Plus 2 free consults who booked for next week.

Now I just have to do this EVERY DAY. o.o

Time to head home and work on some of that self care!

I'm getting ready for my morning nap. Yes. That's right, it's 7:55am and I am about to take a nap.

Egon's being a barking bitch trying to "play with" Spazz (the boys are learning not to be afraid of her, which is bad- not because I don't want them to play; but because Spazz will be 18 years old this spring. It's time for a kitten) which is annoying as my upstairs neighbours don't wake until 9am.

But I'm about to head into the shower and then take my morning nap. Reason? Well, I get up and do a 5k run with a friend on Tue/Thurs, and since those are my "late nights" at work; it's best if I go fully rested. I find the days I don't nap, I'm way more exhausted at the end of the day (as in I don't want to walk the dogs even) and with a nap, I can' maintain routine.

Simply put: If I stay up, it's a 18-20 hour day for me, if I nap it's 16-18 hour day. Doesn't seem like much, but it is a huge difference in how the rest of the week goes. And with my trip to Toronto on Thurs; I really need to make certain I get everything done in a good amount of time with rest.

I'm actually really excited for Thurs. I am going to my friend's house to hang out during the day, and from there we're going for a treatment at the local community acupuncture clinic, and then heading to Toronto to see Johnette Napolitano (lead singer of concrete blonde). I've always wanted to see them live, since the blood letting CD; so I think this will be a great thing to do on Halloween.

After we are driving right back to London (2 hours) because the bar that I've gone to for the past 7 years closed this month, and the owners are opening for one last "goodbye" on Halloween. Chances are we won't get it, but that is ok, there will be plenty of people outside smoking so we'll get to see everyone, which was really why we all went to this bar anyways.

It's like a chapter in my life is completely ending. In the sense that I'm already into the next one; completely loving it, while still having the desire to say "cheers". Granted, some of the people will get the "cheers, don't let the door hit you in the ass"... mostly it's one of those aspects of loss of commonality. I don't "dislike" or "hate" any of these people, we simply don't have enough in common to maintain the friendships.

Which is where I was before I got segued by Garry. But that was an anomaly. I'm grateful for the "secondary" childhood it gave me. Going to the bars was fun, but now that I'm in my 40's I simply don't like the pace. I'm much more inclined to a night at home with friends and a bottle of wine. The need for the excitement and thrill of "what's going to happen" I totally can get into. Although it isn't needed all the time.

We make our own fun, and excitement. I've known and done that before- time to go back to that. Bonus that I now have a place where I can completely relax, not clean, clean whatever I choose, when I choose.

So onward with the next chapter and oh yeah... nap time :)

So I had an appointment with a medium today. It was quite lovely. First I should share, this is a woman who I did my business coaching with and absolutely enjoy. I actually want to use her service to just "clear the air" (she does distance Reiki for houses/homes/businesses) so when she posted she was doing something new and needed volunteers, I of course did so.

I wasn't expecting her to be acting as a medium. Shit. Not something I would have just done. Actually I'd rather not do it, simply because I already "hear too much" and prefer to be grounded in this reality, opposed to distracted by the other.

That said, it was a very good experience. Marie came through during our time and it was actually a very healing session. Simply because I didn't get that last goodbye so to speak, and much of the last month with studying for Canadian National Boards has reminded me so much of her and her help while I studied for the US National Boards.

On the way home I found $15 on the sidewalk (no purse or anything around it- so I'm going to treat myself tonight to some dinner with it).

I have to say it's been a surprisingly wonderful day.

Today, the monsters: Egon and Winston turn 2 ♥

Thank gawd for those furry little guys. I have always known I've needed pets, but these two have shown me how absolutely necessary it is.

Happy Birthday Evil Weeniez!

I really wish I were cloned on days like today.

GAH! So much work.

And I'm grateful. Bought a new recliner for the clinic and re-arranged chairs, I'm not certain what I think yet, but to start I think it is "ok"... we'll see once I get more feedback. It's tough trying to get maximum use of such a small space.

Turkey soup is done! First is more tradition with mostly "garlic" for full flavour. The second pot? It's chipolte! I'm excited about them both. Now I just have to get more containers to freeze the extras with.

That's one thing I love about cooking, is I can make one dish and have it feed me for about a week on less than $15. BUT, you need the "tools" to freeze them with otherwise it will go bad.

It's been such a brutal week, I broke down and bought "sugar". Well, maple syrup to be exact. It is heavenly in my coffee.

Although to be clear, sugar is sugar. That means while it has a bit more nutritive value than sugar (which has all nutrients stripped out), it still is sugar (although lower on the glycemic index).

And please don't respond with whatever chemical you choose to use- I don't go there. Typically I've been using Stevia, and while it's ok- it isn't the same. And brands like Truvia unfortunately can be just as bad as chemical alternatives with how much processing they are doing. My latest thing: less processing. When I have enough $ I'm switching cheeses (right now, I haven't gotten my schedule together enough to shop properly, and I'm forced to buy mostly sale items) to the organic ones at the farmer's market.

I need to put word out to my mom, that I need a new back pack, because she finds things on sale and lives in an area with more businesses that sell what I'm looking for 50-70 litre waterproof backpack. But my friend has one that she's used every day for 4 years, it's like brand new still and it has foam along the back where it sits (with books and computer this will be great). Now that I have to leave my car parked for a while (lack of funds to fix it, with several months in deficit I simply have to draw the line- plus it gets me on my bike which I should have started a year ago) I need a better backpack. Carrying my clothes, books, food and computer for work- I don't have any spare room to shop or do other things on the way home. Which means I typically have to make multiple trips. Something like my friends bag would greatly reduce that plus allow for extra. I have to say I really am enjoying it, even though it is a "pain", it's exactly part of why I moved here- slow down, enjoy life and not be in a "rush". It's interesting that the feeling of all of that is tied into my car.

And it's back, and of course I'm not getting anything done as I'm surfing the web at stupid hours :P

However, it's a relief, as I do a lot of work from home in my off time. Granted, this is work I would do regardless (have you seen my journal? Writing is something I enjoy). Plus I now will have time to work on updating another site.

Then it's on to doing new content. ShaBAM.

Still 2 miscarriages in the past week, and my mother's best friend from 9th grade died today. She walked into the hospital room to find her gone. Apparently her step-daughter and her new baby had been there, while she was "non-responsive" she and the baby apparently "talked" for a few minutes, and then she just went. It was very peaceful. Mom, apparently missed everyone by a closing door. She had gotten a call that my cousin (through marriage) miscarried right before she was to leave to visit her friend. So when she arrived at the hospital, everyone was gone (again they think her elevator opened as theirs closed).

Plus my boss had her wallet stolen for the second time in two weeks. This time it wasn't at the house, it was at a shop around the corner, and they took it while she waited to get the house lock changed. *sigh*

Seems like rough week is "going around" this week. Hope you all have a little easier go of it.

Still no Effing internet at home.

Thank you for those of you who wished me a happy birthday :) It was GREATLY appreciated.

Surreal that I'm 42. Not where I want to be, but not disappointed in what I've learned and done either. Lots to say on this, but not till things get a bit more stable.

Test is on Tues.

Wish me luck!
